Join our Digital & Technology team at Scentre Group, which designs and supports digital products and platforms used across the business.
The Senior Engineer - Full stack role focuses on designing, building and improving software solutions that enable business operations and customer experiences.
You will work closely with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable technology outcomes. The role contributes to stable, scalable systems that deliver ongoing value.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing and maintaining software solutions that support digital products and enterprise platforms.
- Translating product and business requirements into clear, scalable and maintainable technical designs.
- Contributing to solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
- Ensuring code quality, performance, security and reliability across systems and services.
- Monitoring and resolving production issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
This role is fixed term contract for a 12-month period.
What sets you apart
We are seeking an experienced engineer with strong technical capability and a practical approach to problem solving. You will have experience working across the full software development lifecycle and contributing to production systems in a collaborative team environment. A tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience, is desirable.
You will bring:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience delivering and supporting production-grade software solutions in complex environments.
- Strong, hands-on experience (non‑negotiable) with TypeScript, Node.js and React, including designing and maintaining scalable applications.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, from designing solutions through to deployment and production support.
- Experience with or exposure to GraphQL, Next.js, and working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments is advantageous.
- A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to consider user and business impacts when making technical decisions.
- A demonstrated ability to drive innovation by improving systems, engineering practices and performance over time.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with product managers, designers and engineers to deliver shared outcomes.
