Your opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Foreman to join the Scentre Group D&C Team to drive the program of project works in our Auckland destinations.
Reporting to the Senior Project Coordinator, you will be supervising and coordinating on site construction activities across the project whilst ensuring productivity, labour costs are kept within construction budget and compliance to the safety plan.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating and controlling the on-site construction activities to ensure the completed works achieve the Environmental Occupational Health & Safety (EOH&S), time, cost and quality objectives for the Project. This will be in conjunction with the Site Manager.
- Attending the weekly safety walks and safety meeting.
- Attending pre starts/Toolbox talks, Foreman's meeting, weekly team meetings.
- Embracing the Team environment and the overall project, not limiting yourself to your own area/zone of work.
- Managing construction activities and/or subcontractor’s works as assigned by the Project Manager or Site Manager.
- Regularly reviewing the construction program. Preparation of short-term programs (2-4 weekly look ahead programs). Assisting in forward planning to minimize potential delays.
- The control and coordination of subcontractors who are under your direction.
- Providing positive leadership to the subcontractors.
- Understanding the subcontractor’s scope of works.
After hours work will be required from time to time.
What will set you apart from the rest?
You are an experienced Foreman with a history of coordinating various trades on large scale building projects across retail, commercial and or residential.
We can offer:
- At Scentre Group, our People Protecting People initiative is our cultural framework for safety and wellbeing. It goes beyond compliance to embed care, respect, and proactive prevention into everything we do.
- A delivery model that enables a higher degree of influence, ownership and decision making (based on internal ownership).
- Fully aligned whole of project team common goals – that provides for greater focus on outcomes.
- Right time and resources applied in preconstruction to ensure a project’s success (noting we are not reliant on winning a tender for the project to proceed).
